Spy Shots: Aston-Martin V8 Volanté

Aston Martin is expected to take the wraps of its newest convertible model at the LA Motor Show in November but spy photographers are managing to snap a few early. These images show what appears to be a production-ready model without body-cladding or camouflage of any sort.

Comparing the car in the image with its successful tin-roof counterpart Aston seems to have done an exceptional job crafting a convertible roof that maintains the car's sleek muscular lines. Aside from the folding cloth roof all other mechanicals are expected to carry over from the coupe on which it's based. The Vantage's 4.3-liter V8 should drive the roadster to sixty in about five seconds.

Based on Aston's traditional nomenclature we could expect the drop-top to be labeled either "V8 Volanté" or "V8 Vantage Volanté" though others suggest "V8 Roadster" will be used instead. Meanwhile rearward visibility with the top up through only a small rear window is bound to be at a disadVantage.
